I was going to say the uphill Trail to the castle was quite the hassle and no wonder it got built in such a place......until I saw it was the wrong way 😅 Hey, happens to the best of us, trekking uphill at night is no joke. At least you got a view of the hidden sights 😅

Loved seeing the cute little hanami picnic under the great old sakura tree 🌸💚, green grass around , bikes... this would be my way too😋, not such a mass hanami, Ueno style 😆! A very interesting place, both city/country, many statues (art = freedom 😁!!), trains, bamboo - for me a nice walk 👍❤!!

Thanks for posting this video. I hadn't heard of this festival even though I've been to the Tokushima Awa Odori twice, and the Koenji Awa Odori. This reminds me of some of the free routes in Tokushima where the crowd is very close to the dancers. Koenji seemed much more crowded than your video of Shimokitazawa, (the night I went to Koenji it was super hot and humid (I think even hotter and humid than normal), and JR had to have traffic control inside the train station because there were so many people getting off the trains).
